Family Resources
Our Homeschool Assistance Program (HSAP) offers a variety of resources to support homeschooling families in the Ames area. Here’s a quick overview of available offerings, with links to more information on each.
Enrichment Classes
These weekly classes meet for six weeks each quarter, designed to spark curiosity and deepen understanding in a range of subjects. Enrichment classes are optional and open to students seeking additional learning experiences. To sign up, contact Kathy Geis for K-5 and Stephanie Haila for grades 6-12.
Supervising Teacher Assistance
Every HSAP family is assigned a supervising teacher who offers guidance, support, and encouragement. Our team of fourteen teachers, all with personal homeschooling experience, meet state-required contact standards. This includes four contacts per quarter, with two being face-to-face, one of which can be substituted with a field trip or enrichment class if applicable.
Resource Library
Families enrolled in HSAP have access to our resource library, offering a wide selection of literature and curricula for loan. The library is open during enrichment hours or by appointment with a supervising teacher.
Assessments
Optional Iowa Assessments (IA) are available for students in grades 3-12. The testing schedule for the 2024-2025 school year will be announced soon.
Each of these resources is designed to enrich the homeschooling experience, offering families flexibility and support. Explore more by following the links provided.
